Gite la Sittelle

Singuigneret is a small hamlet with about ten year-round residents. At an altitude of 1350 meters, it faces due south, overlooking the Romanche valley, more precisely, the Chambon lake and its dam. It is one of the starting points for the ascent to the famous Emparis Plateau (2450 meters), either via the GR54 long-distance hiking trail or the track. A little way from the hamlet, the communal sheepfold shelters two flocks of sheep in winter. These flocks join larger ones, which have been brought up from the Midi region, to graze on the lush alpine pastures.

Summer and winter alike, the hamlet's fountain gently lulls the few inhabitants and visitors with its sweet song, since time immemorial.
